The first step towards removing toxins from your body is through proper hydration. Your kidneys are working to flush your system, so they must be fueled with plenty of water. Healthy individuals are recommended to drink at least one ounce of water for each pound of body weight they have. Alternatively, ginger can easily be consumed as a steeped tea. Grating your own fresh ginger will have the greatest potency and you can add honey to taste. Some people prefer to do a detoxifying bath by grating the ginger into a bathtub with hot water. This can be beneficial, but does dehydrate you, so be sure to sip a lot of cold water while in the tub.
Love Lemon
Similar to ginger, many believe that lemon has detoxifying properties for the digestive system as well. Some health nuts have taken to sipping fresh squeezed lemon juice in hot water each morning, believing it both hydrates and detoxes the body after a night of sleep.
