Most of us are well aware of the major no no’s when it comes to taking care of our bodies. To preserve the body’s youth, we should not smoke or drink heavily. We should exercise regularly, and get a good night’s sleep whenever possible. These things should be common sense.
What many people may not be aware of are the crucial things we should avoid to promote graceful aging. Begin practicing more efficient body maintenance, and avoid these harmful habits. Turn 50 and look 40 by simply not doing these few things.
Do not neglect the doctor’s office.
The key to maintaining a beautiful and ageless look is to maintain the body’s health properly. Do not neglect the doctor’s office. Keep up with regular physicals and do not try to “tough it out” when something goes wrong.
Suffering through pain and possibly scarring the body is not the way to prove toughness. Take proper care of the body, and it will age with much more ease. Efficient health maintenance will positively affect a person’s overall quality of life.
Do not overdo the makeup.
Women tend to get a little heavy on the makeup as they grow older. This is a bad idea. Makeup is designed to enhance natural beauty, not to cover a person’s face in six layers of foundation and blush dust. If makeup is necessary, keep it simple.
Heavy makeup applications can draw unwanted attention to bags and wrinkles, achieving the opposite of a person’s initial purpose. It does not look good. As we age, we should own the natural changes in our bodies. Allow the makeup to enhance the natural qualities of the face.
Do not bake in the sun.
We all know that overexposure to the sun can damage our skin and lead to the development of skin cancer. The sun can also dry up the essential oils in our skin and cause it to feel rough and leathery.
The harsh rays of the sun will burn the outer layers of the skin after too much direct exposure and cause damaging peeling. Understand that small doses of sunshine are healthy and provide much-needed vitamins for the body, so do not become a recluse.
Do not be surrounded by negativity.
Studies have shown that people with less stress and negativity in their lives are less likely to experience mental struggles and more liable to live longer than those that live high stress and high impact lives.
Do not spend excess time trying to fix everyone else’s attitude. Negativity is contagious and will quickly seep into the mind. The good news is that the flow works both ways. Being surrounded by positivity will boost mental health and mood enormously.
