Whenever healthy eating and being healthy in general becomes a topic in some groups, there is at least one person who says that he or she has so low income that it’s nearly impossibly to do that. Healthy food costs and lot of money, so does gym, so does everything else these days.
But the truth is that this is all far from truth. The closest thing to truth here is that yes, if you have decided to eat only organic food, then you must be willing to pay premium, but even this is easily overcome if you simply grew your own organic food. And no, I know what some of you want to say…you want to say where am I supposed to do that? Stop! That’s the whiner in you speaking. Just think a bit and you’ll find a solution. For many people, maybe even including you and me, if we spent as much time looking for solutions rather than problems, everything would be quite easy, including staying healthy on a budget.
Online voucher code website My Voucher Codes has tried to give you some more specific ideas on how you can stay (or become) fit and healthy on a budget.
“Some of us may have put on a bit of weight over Christmas, or are struggling to lose a few extra pounds and have probably added getting fit and healthy to our New Year’s resolutions. Many people will have also added saving money to that list too, so can you do both? Yes, you can! Following our helpful hints and tips you should be able to lose the pounds from your body whilst not losing pounds from your wallet.” — Managing Director of My Voucher Codes, Chris Reilly.
How to eat healthy on a budget?
Before you go to the shop, collect voucher codes and coupons for discounts, then make a list of what you need and stick to it when shopping. No extra items. The best time to buy veg and fruits is when they’re going out of date. But if you’re cooking the same day, it doesn’t really matter for you. Same actually applies to meats, you just need to be more choosy.
For me, I have noticed that even though I go shopping nearly every day, I get most of my stuff from the counter which sells items where Best Before is closing in, and because of that you can get it for 25-50% of the price. But as I cook them just hours later, to me it doesn’t really matter whether they are going to be bad tomorrow or not.
How to get fit on a budget?
It doesn’t really matter whether you think you have enough money to go the gym or not. It really doesn’t. You don’t really need to go to the gym. Or if you do, you can usually find cheap options available to you as well. But if not, going out running is free, you just need to make sure your running shoes are up to date. Depending on how much you run, a pair a year or a pair every 5 years is enough. It depends. You can do push ups at home, same with abs. Walking more is free as well, as is using stairs whenever possible. For more ideas, Youtube is your friend.
All in all, staying fit and healthy on a budget is easy. Or actually – the budget part is easy – staying fit and and healthy requires lots of will power and work.
